Hi everyone! Today I am sharing two card designs featuring the new Leaves are Falling stamp set from i-Crafter. These cards are also featured on the i-Crafter blog today, check them out here.
Project 1
My first project features the leaf images from the Leaves are Falling stamp set. First I created the fall ombre background using my Distress Oxide inks. I used plain water to create the droplet look. Next I trimmed a piece of cardstock just wide enough to fit the leaf images, 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I heat embossed the images with gold embossing powder so I could use the ink resist technique. I ink blended the strip with Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks. I used Fired Brick Distress ink to watercolor the leaves. I attached the embossed cardstock to the card base leaving a narrow strip of the card base on the left-hand side. I heat embossed the “Happy Autumn” sentiment on black cardstock and attached the sentiment strip to the card base using double-sided foam tape. To finish the card I added gold sequins for embellishment.
Project 2
For my second card I wanted more of an earthy feel so I used kraft cardstock to create this top folding card. First I created a subtle background on the 4″ x 5 1/4″ kraft paper using the leaves and berries image and Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide ink. I heat embossed the “grateful” sentiment with white embossing powder and I used a white gel pen to add the circle details to the front. I adhered the decorated card front to the card base.
I decided this stamp set had the perfect images to try out the no-line coloring technique. I used the R30’s series for the mushroom top and the E40’s series for the mushroom stem. I used YG60’s for the leaves and R50’s for the berries. I used I white gel pen to add details and highlights to the images. Finally, I used glue dots and foam tape to attach the mushrooms and leaves images to the card front.
*Note: My Scan-N-Cut had a hard time recognizing the borders of these no line images so I fussy cut them by hand. I used G000 to reduce the contrast in the white areas in the smaller spaces.
On the inside of the card I attached a piece of stitched white cardstock so that the sender could write a message to the recipient. I stamped the mushroom image in the brown ink to coordinate with the card front.
