KS June 2021 Release – Soak Up the Sun

Hi KS fans! Thanks for stopping by my blog. It’s the second day of the Kindred Stamps Release Week for June 2021 and I am excited to share a sneak peek of the Soak Up the Sun stamp set. This set and the rest of the release will be available on Friday, June 25th at 8 AM PST. Check it out here!

Project 1
For my first project I have made a sun-shaped treat box. I found a free circle box template on the Split Coast Stampers website here. I printed the template on light yellow cardstock and cut it out with scissors. I used the Cosmic Flare stencil from i-Crafter and Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides to create the sun rays background on the front of the treat box. Before assembling the box I stamped the “You Are My Sunshine” sentiment with black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

To decorate the front of the treat box I die cut the rays of the Stitched Rainbow and colored the with my Copic markers. I used liquid glue to attach the rainbow to the treat box. I also used my Copic markers to color up Soak Up the Sun Annie. I used foam tape to attach her to the treat box for some additional dimension. To finish the treat box I attached some gold sequin embellishments with glue dots.

For my second project I wanted to create something with a bright pink lemonade color combo so I ink blended the card background with Squeezed Lemonade, Pink Raspberry, and Festive Berries Distress Oxide inks. Next, I die cut the front panel with the stitched rectangle die from the Card Basics Die Set and matted it onto black cardstock for contrast. For some additional texture I used the Aztec Stencil and Pink Melon Deco Foil Transfer Sheets from Thermoweb to create the foiled pattern onto the background.

To finish the card I added a sentiment strip to the card front with liquid adhesive. I used the Cosmic Flare stencil from i-Crafter and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides to decorate the circle portion of the strip. I stamped the “Soak Up the Sun” sentiment with black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Finally, I colored Soak Up the Sun Annie with Copic markers and added her to the card using foam tape. I added black glitter sequins to the card for extra embellishment.

Project 3
For my last card I used a tropical color scheme to create a single panel background with the Aloha Stencil and Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks. I used the Card Basics Die Set to create the decorative circles that I die cut for coordinating colored cardstock. I colored Soak Up the Sun Annie with Copic markers and added her to the card using foam tape. I added purple and pink sequins to the card for extra embellishment. To finish the card I heat embossed the “Wishing You Sunny Days” sentiment with the Snowfall Embossing Powder onto a Sentiment Strips die cut. I attached the sentiment strip to the card using foam tape.
