New Years Celebration Light Up Card

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I am sharing a light-up card perfect for welcoming in the new year. To create the light up mechanism, I used Sampler MegaPack Sticker Lights and Copper Tape from Chibitronics. This card also features the One More Sleep Stamp Set from Clearly Besotted. For more details on this light up creation keep reading below!

First, I used Distress Oxide inks (Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot) to ink blend the night sky background. After ink blending, I also used plain water to create an ink resisting effect on the background.

The town image from the One More Sleep Stamp Set was stamped in pigment black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used a Y02 Copic marker to add color to the house windows so it looks like the lights are on in all the windows. I also used Pumice Stone Distress Ink to add some coloration to the bright moon.

The fireworks were heat embossed with gold embossing powder and I used a piercing tool to create holes in the center of the fireworks for the lights to shine through and to be unobstructed.

The animals, also from the One More Sleep Stamp Set, were colored with Copic markers as well. I used E30’s to color the brown dog, YR10’s to color the orange cat, and W’s to color the gray cat. Finally, I used Y000 on the animals to create bounce light on the animals from the bright fireworks.

To finish the card front I added gold glittery sequins in the night sky and I used a gold gel pen to add the shimmering detail lines to the 2022 die cut.

The image below displays the simple circuit I created with the Yellow Sticker Lights and Copper Tape.
