It’s the first day of the Kindred Stamps Release Week for September 2022, and I am excited to share a sneak peek of the new Career Day: Construction Workers set and the new Construction Zone paper pack. This set includes three sentiments and five images. I used my Copic Sketch markers to color all of the stamped images. I listed the markers I used at the end of this post.
Project 1
For this first card I wanted to go with a road construction work theme. I used designer paper from the Construction Zone Paper Pack for the background and for the smaller circle die cut. To die cut the smaller circle, larger yellow mat, and the gray gravel front layer I used the circle dies from the Card Basics Die Set.
To create the front gravel layer where the construction guy is digging, I die cut a larger stitched circle from solid gray cardstock then used Black Soot Distress ink to shade the bottom edge. I manually tore the paper to look like the guy was drilling in the center of the road.
I used liquid adhesive to glue the three circle layers together and then used Black Soot Distress ink to create an ink splatter effect on the layers to give them a more grungy feel.
I used a wobbler to attach the guy onto the card front so that he can “wiggle” around while he is drilling!
Finally, I stamped the sentiment in pigment black ink onto the yellow Sentiment Strip die cut and heat embossed it with the Clear Embossing Powder. I used Spiced Marmalade Distress ink to shade the bottom edge of the strip. I used foam tape to attach the sentiment strip to the card front.
The white enamel dots are from the Echo Park Magical Adventure 2 Enamel Dots pack.
Project 2
This second card also uses designer paper from the Construction Zone Paper Pack. I used the tool silhouette design to coordinate with the image of the woman holding the hammer. I used foam tape to attach the woman to the card front. The cutting instructions for the background pieces are listed below.
Measurements:
Solid black card front: 1 x 4.25″ x 5.5″
Yellow strips: 2 1″ x 4.25″ & 1″ x 3″
Gray center matte: 1.875″ x 3.125″
Center panel: 1.75″ x 3″
To finish the card, I heat embossed the sentiment with the Snowfall Embossing Powder onto black cardstock and fussy cut around the words. I used gray enamel dots from the Kindred Spirit Enamel Dots to embellish the card.
Project 3
For this last card I wanted to create a scene from a working construction site. The sky background was ink blended with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Oxide inks. Then, I used Brushed Corduroy Distress ink to add shading to the dirt hillsides and to create the splatter effect on all the ink blended layers. Next, I used the large rectangle die from the Card Basics Die Set to trim these front layers and matted into onto a piece of design paper from the Construction Zone Paper Pack.
I used foam tape to attach the stamped and colored images to the front. To finish this last card, I stamped the sentiment in Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink onto the blue sky background and heat embossed it with the Clear Embossing Powder. I used gold enamel dots to add some embellishment the card.
