KS February 2021 Release – Bear Hugs

Thanks for stopping by my blog! It’s the fourth day of the Kindred Stamps Release Week for February 2021. Today, I am sharing a sneak peek of the brand new Bear Hugs stamp set. This set and the rest of the release will be available on Friday, February 26th at 8 AM PST.
For this release, I made three projects featuring the Bear Hugs stamp set. I colored the characters with my Copic Sketch alcohol markers. I used neutral grays to color the bears. For more details on these projects keep reading below. Check out my other sneak peak for the release featuring the Eggstra Annie stamp set here.
Project 1
For my first project I made an A2 sized card featuring the three brother bears and the new Card Builder Basics die set. This die set makes it SO easy to build a layered card design!
I used the rectangle die from the Card Builder Basics to cut the plaid pattern paper and matted it onto the navy card base. Next I used the Forest Stencil, Evergreen Bough and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink, and green cardstock to create a forest scene on the circle die cut. I matted the forest circle onto the dot-and-dash stitched circle. I stamped the “You’re the Beary Best” onto a white sentiment strip and attached it behind the circles. I used foam circles to attach the bears to the card front. Finally, I used gold dots to embellish the card front.
Project 2
For my second project, I made a light up card featuring the Standing Stones die and Pear Blossom Press EZ-Lights. First, I ink blended a glowing night sky with Evergreen Bough, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks on Applemint cardstock. I used white acrylic paint to create ink splattered stars in the night sky.
Next, I die cut the Standing Stones out of gray and black cardstock. I used the Pixie Dust Slimline stencil and Black Soot distress ink to create the mystical stars reflected onto the stones. I also used the black ink to distress the edges on the gray stones. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto the Applemint cardstock. I used Evergreen Bough ink to distress the bottom edge of the sentiment strip. I used liquid adhesive to attach the stones and sentiment strip onto the card front.
For the light-up mechanism, I used a Crop-O-Dile to punch the holes on the card front. I stamped and heat embossed the Sprite images with silver embossing powder onto vellum cardstock. I used B02 Copic marker to give the vellum a blue tint. When you press on the bottom right Sprite, the Sprites in the sky light up! How cool is that?!

Project 3
The last card I made for all the Mama Bears out there!! This slimline card is perfect for Mother’s Day or even Valentine’s Day! This card features the Heart Layers stencil, Arrow stencil, and Scroll Slimline stencil.

For this slimline card, I layered pieces of cardstock decorated with the Arrows stencil, Heart Layers stencil, Scroll Slimline stencil, and Distress Oxide inks (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Candied Apple). I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder onto Cherry Red cardstock. I trimmed the edge of the sentiment strip to look like a flag. To finish the card I used gold gems to embellish the slimline card front.
