I used my Copic markers to color all the galactic characters. I have provided a coloring guide at the end of this blog post.
For my first card, I made a project featuring the family rebel. I wanted the card background to coordinate with his cracked helmet so I used Red Foil from Thermoweb to create the vibrant red cracks. To create the cracked design I used 1/8″ double sided tape to lay out the pattern. I made sure to cut the tape at an angle instead of tearing the tape so that I had nice clean lines. After placing the tape and peeling off the backing paper I laid a piece of red foil over the card front. I used a bone folder to make sure the red foil attached to the double sided tape.
For my second project I made a sunrise desert scene to coordinate with the card sentiment. The sentiment is a play on “You’re a Ray of Sunshine.” To create the sun rays I used the Good Morning Sunshine Stencil from Trinity Stamps with Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide inks. I used Spiced Marmalade Distress ink to create the splatter effect on the sunshine rays background. Next I die cut the stitched hillsides and ink blended them with Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide inks. I used Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress inks to create the splatter effect on the sand.
Next, I die cut a stitched circle with the Card Basics Die Set and ink blended it with Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide inks. I used plain water for the splatter effect on the stitched circle to give it a textured look. I tucked the circle behind the sand to make it look like a rising sun.
I stamped the sentiment with black pigment ink and I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder right onto the card background and the sand die cuts. I glued the character to the front most sandy hillside. To finish the card I added some gold and orange sequins for embellishment.
My third project is an interactive slider card where the robot droid rolls back to his human friend! I decided to make the card front a little simple and I just used a decorative sheet from the Galactic Paper Pack. The background paper I chose is perfect for a planet exploration scene. I die cut the designed paper with the stitched rectangle from the Card Basics Die Set and matted it onto green and orange solid colored cardstock.
Next, I stamped the sentiment with black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder so the sentiment wouldn’t smear on the background paper. I used the Pull and Slide Die Set to create the interactive slider mechanism. I tried to create a slider mechanism where the head stayed up right but the body could roll but that didn’t turn out very well so I stuck with a regular slider card.
Check out the slider mechanism in this video below:

For my fourth project I used more paper from the Galactic Paper Pack to decorate the card. I used the striped paper and galaxy paper to make it look like the inside of a space ship. I used die cut cuts from the Card Basics Die Set to decorate the card front. I used a piece of acetate and the stitched circle frame to make it look like a space ship window. I used blue and purple cardstock to decorate the card to coordinate with the galaxy in the window.
I heat embossed the sentiment strip and sentiment flag with the Snowfall Embossing Powder. The main sentiment is a play on “You’re Fantastic.” I used foam dots to attach the character to the card front and I added silver sparkle sequins for additional embellishment.
For my last project I wanted to create a unlikely Valentine’s Day card featuring the robot droid. The card sentiment is a play on “Be Mine.” I stamped the sentiment with black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I layered the the heart and front card panel with orange cardstock where I ink blended with Ripe Persimmon ink and the Circuit Stencil. The front card panel is another design in the Galactic Paper Pack. I die cut it with the stitched rectangle die from the Card Basics Die Set. I die cut the hearts from the Nesting Heart dies from Hero Arts.
To finish my last card I attached the robot to the card front with foam circles and I added black glossy sequins for embellishment.
