It’s release week for Kindred Stamps and I am so excited to share what I made with the Born to Be Brave stamp set. I made 4 card projects with awesome images and sentiments on this set. Kindred Stamps also released a coordinating paper pack which can be purchased here.
First Project
For my first project I made a pull-tab top-folding card in which the helicopter flies up and reveals the sentiment. I stamped the first part of the sentiment in a charcoal gray and the word “brave” in new england ivy green. I used the MFT clouds stencil and broken glass distress oxide ink blending to make the card background.
On the inside of the card I created the same sky-themed background but I put an army airborne soldier on the inside. Below the fold I stamped the “Thank you for your service” sentiment.
Second Project
For the second card I made a simple army tank card. I used the tank stamp to create the background on plain green cardstock and to create the colored image above the sentiment “Tanks A Lot.” Who doesn’t love a punny sentiment?
Third Project
For my third project I wanted to focus on the different camouflage patterns of the military branches. I kept these cards fairly simple as I wanted the coloring to be the focus of the card. With these cards I tried to represent the Army (top left), Air Force (top right), Navy (bottom left) and Marines (bottom right). I have listed the copic markers I used to create these patterns in the coloring guide at the end of this post.
Fourth Project
For my last card project I decided to feature the female factory worker character. I used pattern paper from the Pebbles Family Ties paper pack for the card front as well as for the envelope insert. I think it dresses up the card so much more when the it has a coordinating envelope. I think this card would be great to give to any female friend. You could even change the hair color to match the recipient to make the card feel even more personalized!

How did you do the Army Airborne figure ? Is it a Digi or did you free hand the parachute ? My Uncle was in Airborne during Vietnam, and he very ill right now, so would love to make him a special card similar to yours.
