Hey friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m so excited for today because I get to share creations featuring my favorite animal, sea horses! 💜 The Seas the Day stamp set from Kindred Stamps features two sea horse images, a sea shell image and three adorable sentiments. I made three card projects to showcase this 2 x 6ets stamp set. This stamp set is available on Friday, April 24th along with the rest of the April release. Check back tomorrow for another sneak peak!
Project 1:
For my first card I used the Kindred Stamps Long Hair Stencil to symbolize moving water as a background. I stamped the “Go With the Flow” sentiment in a royal blue ink on the wavy background. I added some sand and sea weed die cuts to create an under the sea image. I added another layer on top in the image using acetate and white card stock. I embossed the white cardstock with a wave stencil to add some additional contrast. I used my copic sketch markers to color the sea horse and the sea shell. If I were to make this card again I would add a little bit of shading to the sand and sea weed to give another level of dimension.
Project 2:
I had a lot of fun making my second card project with the Kindred Stamps Bubbles Stencil! I used some Thermoweb Transfer Gel to transfer the bubble design onto foil. I used wobblers with the sea horses to add some dimensions. This way it looks like they are “floating” with the bubbles. I used my copic sketch markers to color the sea horses and sea shell. I stamped the “You Make My Heart Swim” sentiment onto a thick strip and adhered it to the cardstock with some foam tape. If I were to make this card again I would take a little more time equally spacing the foiled panels.
Project 3:
For my final project I pushed my self out of my comfort zone and gave color bursts a try. Let’s just say it did not go as planned. Not sure if I will give them another try in the future. They are a little too messy for me lol! If you have any tips on how to properly use the color bursts PLEASE leave a comment below. All the pieces of card stock used in this card were in the “splash zone” of the color burst powder. I heat embossed the sea horse image with a light purple embossing powder. I also heat embossed the sentiment “Seas the Day” with white embossing powder. I used coordinating ribbon and Nuvo drops to add dimension to the card. I braided the ribbon to look like intertwined seaweed. Finally, I adhered the sea horses onto the card base with foam tape. If I were to make this card again I would use a lighter blue for the card background.
So adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How cute!!!
