Hey everybody! I’m back today participating in my first blog hop with the Crafty Festival group. They had a series of blog hops featuring Spring Celebrations for 2020. This hop celebrates Father’s Day!
For this blog hop I used the Leading Gentlemen stamp set from the Essentials by Ellen Leading Ladies collection by Ellen Hutson. I created two card projects featuring this stamp set for Father’s Day. The stamp set is mostly geared towards a significant other with its flirty sentiments, but I think I made it work for this occasion as well.
For my first project I used the Skinny Plaid stencil from Kindred Stamps and Distress Oxide ink to create the card background. I stamped the sentiment “You Are A Gentlemen and a Scholar” onto a stitched nesting label. I used my copic markers to color the Dad. I tried to give this character a beard, not sure how well it turned out.
For my second card I used the other image stamps included in the Leading Gentleman stamp set to make the card background filled with items most men love! I tried to create a plaid shirt on this Dad out of the sold button up shirt using green and navy blue colors. I heat embossed the sentiment with Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. Last, I adhered the character with foam tape for some additional dimension.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. Leave a comment below to let me know which card is your favorite. Be sure to hop along with us for even more festive inspiration for Father’s Day celebrations!
