Thanks for stopping by my blog! It’s the Kindred Stamps Release Week for September 2020! Today I am sharing a sneak peek of the 4″ x 6″ Merry Unicorns stamp set. This stamp set and the rest of the Sept release will be available on Friday, September 25th at 8 AM PST.
This set inspired such beautiful projects for me! I’ve made 3 cards showcasing this stamp set. I colored all of the characters with my Copic Sketch alcohol markers. At the bottom of this blog post I included a coloring guide for these characters. Check back later this week for more sneak peeks of this release.
Project 1
This first card was pretty simple to throw together. I die cut a large circle from Gina K. Designs Masking Magic to create the space for the moon. I used Distress Oxide inks to ink blend the night sky. I peeled the masking paper off of the card background and used Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink to create the glowing moon. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold embossing powder. I used the no-line coloring technique with Inkon3 Fade Out ink to color the unicorn reindeer. I propped the reindeer onto foam adhesive for dimension and I used silver string for the reins.
Project 2
For my second card I used pastel holiday cardstock for the background that coordinated perfectly with the unicorn carolers. I used the no-line coloring technique to color these unicorns as well. Next I die cut two hexagonal shapes. I used the Snowfall stencil and Worn Lipstick distress ink to decorate the smaller hexagon. I heat embossed the sentiment onto the smaller hexagon in green embossing powder. I laid the shapes angled on top of each other and adhered them to the card base. I distressed the edges of the white scrapbook paper with the Worn Lipstick distress ink to soften the contrast between the layers of cardstock. I used foam adhesive to attach the unicorns to the card. To finish the card I used Tonic Studios Fairy Wings Nuvo Dream Drops for embellishment.
Project 3
For my last project I tried to create a Santa’s Workshop scene for the gift wrapping elf. First I used Purple Tape to mask off the area for the wooden table, then I used the Christmas Sweater stencil to create festive wallpaper. After creating the wallpaper, I used the Woodgrain stencil and Ground Espresso Distress oxide ink to create the wooden table space. To create the window with the snowy scene I die cut a large white square then traced four smaller squares inside the large square. I used the Copic B30’s series to create the deep blue ombre of the night sky. I used a white gel pen to create the falling snow. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the unicorn elf and colored it with my Copic Sketch markers. I colored this elf a little differently than the first two cards to give it more of a elf-like look. I used the YG10’s and Y20’s for the elf hat and I used the R30’s and YG40’s for the wrapping paper. To finish the card I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.
