KS October 2020 Release – Path Finder and So Wise Creations

Thanks for stopping by my blog! It’s the  Kindred Stamps Release Week for October 2020! Today I am sharing a sneak peek of two stamp sets: Path Finder and So Wise. Path Finder is a 4″ x 8″ set and So Wise is a 3″ x 4″ set. These sets and the rest of the October release will be available on Friday, October 30th at 8 AM PST. 

For my first card I used the small sunflower image to create a earthy monotone background on kraft cardstock, then I colored a big bold sunflower image and placed it in the center to brighten up the card. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder onto a brown sentiment strip and placed it on top of the colored sunflower. I attached the princess to the card with foam tape for dimension.

I stamped the sentiment “Go Where the Wind Takes You” and the sunflower image on the inside of the card. I colored the sunflower to look identical to the one on the front of the card.

For my second card I created a scene near a river bend featuring this wise old willow tree. The ripples in the water, the sky, and the grassy hillside were all drawn by hand. It’s not perfect but I think it works.  I stamped the sentiment “you are so wise” with black Versafine ink.

My third card is my favorite of this collection, I just love all the vibrant colors!  I used Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, and Spun Sugar oxide inks to create the pastel sky blend. I used Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles oxides with the Forest stencil to ink the trees in the background.  I covered the ground with Bundled Sage oxide ink.  I used various blue and blue green oxides to create the moving water such as Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Mermaid Lagoon. I stamped the sentiment “choose your path” with black Versafine ink to finish the background.

I sketched the canoe by hand and colored it with the E20’s to create the woodgrain look. I used an xacto knife to cut a small slit in the boat so the princess could stand inside the boat. I used foam tape to attach the character images to the card. Finally, I also added green enamel dots to embellish the card front.

As I was coloring up this character I slowly realized I chose the wrong shades for his outfit (oh no!) so I quickly decided to feature the governor as cupid! I used Festive Berries and Black Soot oxide inks with the heart themed stencils (Hearts and Dots and Hearts Stencil) to create the layering backgrounds. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold embossing powder (as reference to the sentiment) onto a black sentiment strip. I added gold sequins to embellish the card too! I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment strip and the character to the card front.
