Thanks for stopping by my blog! Today I am sharing this adorable, school-themed card featuring the Alphabet, Heather Upper and Alpha Numeric, Heather Lower die sets from i-Crafter. This project is featured on the i-Crafter blog today too, so make sure to check it out here!
These alphabet dies inspired me to create a school themed card featuring: an alphabet blackboard, lined notebook paper, a wooden desk, and a teacher’s apple!
To create the wooden desk inspired base layer, I used Vintage Photo Distress ink on kraft cardstock to create the rustic, wood grain look. Next, I used my Prismacolor pencils to create the lined notebook paper details on white cardstock. For the spiral bound edge I used the notebook edge die from the Mini Album, Accordion die set.
The alphabet dies came into play to create the chalk board top layer. First, I used a white colored pencil and drew the chalk board lines onto black cardstock. I used a ruler to make the lines as even as possible. Next, I attached an i-Stik Adhesive sheet to the back of white cardstock and die cut cut the letters. This way I can just peel the backing paper off the die cuts and easily adhere them to the cardstock!
I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut out an apple shape for the front of the card. Next, I heat embossed the “Thank You” sentiment from the Thankful Sentiments stamp set with white embossing powder onto the apple. This way the sentiment also looks like it was written in chalk! For the finishing touches, I added the yellow enamel dots, yellow twine, and blue binder clip. This card is super adorable and perfect for your teacher friends!
