TGF Guest Designer: Dreaming Under the Stars

Hi friends! I am honored to be the guest designer for The Greeting Farm (TGF) for the month of July! I will be sharing TGF projects a few times through out the month on their blog check it out here. My first project features images from the Bed Head set (retired) and the sentiment is from the Dreams Do Come True set. Keep reading below for more details on how I created this dream under the stars card.

First, I stamped the bed image and masked it with Gina K. Designs Masking Magic Paper. Next, I masked the lower half of the card with Post-It Note Tape so that I can ink blend the galaxy background. I used Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks to make the starry night sky. I used white acrylic paint to create the paint splatter effect.

I stamped the “Dreams Do Come True” sentiment from the Dreams Do Come True set in Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I used my Copic markers to color the images and to design wooden floors. The colors I used are listed at the end of this post. To create the base flooring, I used a black multi-liner pen and a ruler to draw the bottom floor panel and the wooden plank outlines. After creating the woodgrain design on the floor, I added little black stars. Once the floor was finished, I peeled up the Masking paper and colored the bed. I fussy cut the girl, cat, and the dog and added them to the image.

I finished the card by adding light blue, white, and clear sequins for some fun embellishment.

Hope my creation inspires you today! Check out more The Greeting Farm projects here.
