Layered Christmas Tree with Spellbinders

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I’m sharing two cards featuring the Layered Christmas Tree Stencil which is part of the new Trim a Tree Collection from Spellbinders.

Green Tree

For my first card, I created a scene with falling snow. I used I used Evergreen Borough and Pine Needles Distress Oxide inks to ink blend the layered tree. Next, I used the Layered Christmas Tree Stencil to trace the outline of the tree to make a mask out off Masking Magic paper. I placed the mask over the layered tree and ink blended the snowy sky with Speckled Egg, Peacock Feathers, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks. To finish the background, I used pigment white ink and the stencil to create the falling snow. I used gold and red glitter gel for the ornaments. The ornament at the top of the tree was ink blended with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks. I attached the star to the card with a 3D foam dot. To finish the card, I heat embossed the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Holiday Gnomes set with gold embossing powder onto a strip of red cardstock.

White Tree

This second card looks like after the snow has fallen and the pine tree is completely covered in bright white snow. First, I used the Layered Christmas Tree Stencil to trace the outline of the tree to make a mask out off Masking Magic paper. I placed the mask in the center of the ink blending paper and ink blended the snowy sky with Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks. To finish the background, I used plain water to add texture. I used Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink to add the shadow layer to the tree and blue glitter gel for the ornaments. The ornament at the top of the tree was ink blended with Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks. I attached the star to the card with a 3D foam dot. To finish the card, I heat embossed the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Holiday Gnomes set with silver embossing powder onto a strip of navy blue cardstock.
