KS September 2021 Release – Make A Wish

Hi KS fans! Thanks for stopping by my blog. It’s the last day of the Kindred Stamps Release Week for September 2021, and I am excited to share a sneak peek of the new Make A Wish set. I used my Copic Sketch markers to color all of the images. I listed the markers I used at the end of this post.

Project 1
For my first project, I wanted to create a theater stage scene for the puppet. For the curtain background pattern I used the Moon & Stars stencil. Next, I used the Stage Builder stencil to layer the curtains, build the stage floor, and to cast the stage light. I used Abandoned Coral, Barn Door, brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Scattered Straw, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks to add the color and shading to the scene.

I used white thread to create “puppet strings” that I attached to his hands and feet with mini glue dots. To finish the card I stamped the sentiment with the Kindred Stamps Embossing Ink Pad and heat embossed it with the Snowfall Embossing Powder. I added gold sequins to the stage background for some extra sparkle.

Project 2
The next card I wanted to re-create the scene where the family escapes the whale on the wooden raft so I sketched the background by hand with a pencil and colored it in with my Copic Sketch markers. Once I finished the scene, I glue the characters onto the raft. I used a white gel pen to add the stars in the sky. Finally, I stamped the sentiment with pigment black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Project 3
For this next card, I wanted the background to look like a fantasy night sky. I used Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord, and Broken China Distress inks to watercolor the pastel background onto Canson Watercoloring paper. Once the background dried, I used retired Pool Party Glitter Gloss with the Moon & Stars stencil to add the shimmering stars.

I added the sentiment strip and the character to the card using foam tape. The sentiment I stamped with the Kindred Stamps Embossing Ink Pad and heat embossed with gold embossing powder to coordinate with the gold accents of the fairy’s outfit and her wand.

Project 4
For my last card I wanted to feature the two trouble makers. I used the Pathway Slimline stencil to create a neutral background with white pigment ink on kraft cardstock. I used the Pathway Slimline stencil again to mimic the background design onto the vellum stitched circle I created with the large circle die from the Card Basics Die Set. I attached the characters on top of the vellum circle using liquid adhesive.

I used the Sentiment Strips Die Set to create a sentiment strip from kraft cardstock. To finish the card I stamped the sentiment with the Kindred Stamps Embossing Ink Pad and heat embossed it with the Snowfall Embossing Powder. I added orange sequins to the card as color accents.
