SBS Mermazing – Make A Splash Card

Hey friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Today, I am sharing an mystic card design featuring the Mermazing product line by Scrappy Boy Stamps. Keep reading below for more details on how I made this underwater creation.

The nice thing about the Under the Sea Slimline Paper Pack (4″ x 9″) is that it can be used on A2 sized cards. You just have to used a 1/4 inch matte to cover the rest of the card base. On this card I used a teal stitched rectangle frame to matte the blue background paper. I used Chipped Sapphire Distress ink to distress the edges of the frame.

Next, I used the Under the Sea Scene Builder Stencil with purple deco foil to create the shimmery bubbles. I traced the bubbles onto the background paper with a pencil so I knew where to place the bubbles.

*WARNING: Do NOT use deco foil with the pattern paper as it will stick to the entire area of the patterned paper. I believe this is because the pattern paper is printed with a laser printer? Learn from my mistakes! lol

The sea witch was colored with Copic markers. I used BV20’s for her dress and hat, BV00’s for her skin tone, and BG40’s and 30’s for the hair.

To finish the card I added a stitched flag sentiment strip where I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. Before I added the sentiment to the die cut I stamped the bubbles from the Mermazing Stamp Set in a dark gray onto the gray cardstock to add a textured background to the sentiment strip.

Hope this mermazing creation has inspired you today. Check out some more of my  Scrappy Boy Stamps creations here!
