Shake, Rattle and Roll with Chibitronics and Kindred Stamps

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I am sharing a slider light-up card that makes you want to shake, rattle and roll! To create the light up mechanism, I used Sampler MegaPack Sticker Lights and Copper Tape from Chibitronics. This card also features the Retro Diner Set from Kindred Stamps. For more details on this light up creation keep reading below!

First, I used an assortment of Kindred Stamps products to build this retro diner scene. To create the tile flooring I sketched with a pencil and colored with Copic markers. The background paper is from the Retro Diner Paper Pack. The adorable boy and girl, waitress, and jukebox machine images are all from the Retro Diner Set. I also colored these images with my Copic markers. The colors I used are listed at the end of this blog post.

I used an craft knife to cut the backing of the window of the jukebox so the sticker light can shine through. I also used vellum to cover the opening to hide the sticker light. The image below displays the light-up slider mechanism in action.

This next image displays the pull tab light-up circuit I created for this card. I will be posting a pull-tab light-up card tutorial soon. But for now, you need two card bases and two pull tab die cuts (one to operate the moving mechanism and another to activate the light). I used the Pull and Slide Die Set to create the dual pull-tab mechanism.

Another important note is that the light has to be connected to the circuit AFTER the pull tab mechanism.

Hope this retro creation inspires you today! Check out more Chibitronics projects here!
