KS May Release – Sea Monster Kids

Hi KS fans! Thanks for stopping by my blog. It’s the last day of the Kindred Stamps Release Week for May 2022, and I am excited to share a sneak peek of the new Sea Monster Kids set. This set and the rest of the May release will be available on Friday, May 27th at 8 AM PST. Shop these new release products here, or if you love ALL of the new release items you can purchase the May Bundle!

I used my Copic Sketch markers to color all of the images. At the end of this blog post, I have included a list of the colors I used.

Project 1
For my first project I created a fun ocean scene featuring the cute little sea monsters. I made a slimline card (3.5″ x 8.5″) so I could fit the monsters and the girl in the boat.

I drew the boat with a pencil and fussy cut it with scissors. I used an Xacto knife to cut a slit into the top so I could stick the girl’s legs into the boat. I used BG00s, C1, C3, C7, E42, E41, and E97 Copic markers to color the boat.

To build the ocean scene I used the Waves Craft Die and the Ocean Scene Craft Die with Ocean Mist cardstock. I used Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks to shade the die cuts. I also used Salty Ocean Distress ink to create the ink splatter effect in the waves.

I used Sandy Beach cardstock to create the sandy ocean floor at the bottom of the card where I stamped the sentiment with pigment black ink. I cut the wavy edge by hand.

Finally, I used the shaker mix from the Underwater Buddies LE Box to add shimmery bubble embellishments to the card front.

Project 2
For my second card, I made a jar of limoncello to coordinate with sweet sentiment. I used the Atlas Jar Stamp and Die set to build the jar frame. I used Salvaged Patina, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks to color up the jar frame. I used the shaker mix from the Underwater Buddies LE Box to create a shaker inside the jar, and to embellish the card front.

I decided to use the taller boy on this card since his tank top matches the jar of limoncello. I used liquid adhesive to attach him to the front of the shaker jar.

Next, I used the Card Basics Die Set to die cut the stitched rectangle from the wavy pattern paper included in the new Seaside Paper Pack. I love how the vintage blue waves coordinate with the blue from the “glass” jar.

To finish the card I matted the stitched rectangle onto Sandy Beach colored cardstock. I used the same cardstock and Snowfall Embossing Powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto the long strip.

Project 3
For my last card I wanted to put the adorable kids together with the beautiful scripty “ciao” sentiment. So I pulled another designer paper from the Seaside Paper Pack for the background. I think this coral pattern is my favorite from the pack. Another great feature of this paper pack is that it is double-sided, that way you have a coordinating design on the reverse side!

Once I cut the coral paper down to an A2 size card front, I used the small circle die from the Card Basics Die Set to die cut an opening in the top center area of the card. I used Sandy Beach cardstock to die cut the large stitched circle, also from the Card Basics Die Set, and placed it over the opening. Next, I flipped the smaller circle over so I could place the reverse design on top of the Sandy Beach cardstock.

I used foam squares to attach the kids to the card in front of the smaller circle.

I used the Snowfall Embossing Powder with the same Sandy Beach cardstock to heat emboss the sentiment onto the large strip. I used foam tape to attach the sentiment to the lower left hand corner of the card front. For the final touch, I added glittery white enamel dots to coordinate with the background.
